Minimum donation per participant: $30

All donations to AWA are eligible for a charitable tax receipt.

This is a moderate half-day hike, raising and falling a little over 400 m in elevation. The total length is about 16 km.

• Proper sturdy footwear for hiking.
• Clothing suitable for variable weather. This includes proper head cover, sunglasses, layered clothing, jacket and rain/cold weather gear as October weather can be variable.
• Food, snacks and drinks for the day; including plenty of water.
• Insect repellent, bear spray, personal items, etc.

This is a unique area worthy of protection from logging and motorized vehicles. Horse Lake, with its meadows and ridges, are immortalized in Wild Horses, Wild Wolves by Maureen Enns. We will likely see evidence of these animals on Sand Ridge.
