Support Jaimie and her team as they raise money to support the work of the Alberta Wilderness Association in Banff. Currently, the AWA is closely following the People Moving Plan being developed by Banff National Park to ensure ecological integrity in the park is maintained.
What better way to raise money for the wilderness than shooshing among our favourite mountains with your fellow winter enthusiasts? Encourage your friends and family to sponsor you on this winter adventure. Prizes for the best fundraisers!
The 19 km ski will take 4-5 hours. You should be comfortable on your skis and ready for a 200 m elevation gain.
- X-country skis and poles
- Lunch, snacks, and water
- Weather-appropriate clothing. Gear that keeps you warm for several hours in the winter wilderness. Dress in layers and prepare for changeable weather and temperature fluctuations.
- A set of dry clothes to change into after the hike, especially pants and socks, is recommended.
This adventure will be weather-dependent and require adequate snow conditions. We anticipate this trip will go ahead and will be in contact with registrants in case of a change of plans. The Goat Creek Trail is a moderate-challenging cross-country ski trail. You should be comfortable making controlled descents of hills to join this adventure.
